How To Install

Preparation

The surface of the wall must be cleaned, smooth, dry, without cracks, damages or holes and free of contamination as dirt, grease, dust or ink stains.

Check if the paint is really glued to the wall with a paper tape in a small space in the corner of the wall.

Porous surface, like cement render, should have primer and must be dry in depth before instalation.

Do not forget, you can’t use the wallpaper to hide damages on the wall surface!

Old, flaking paint will need to be scraped and sanded to a smooth surface. For freshly painted walls, allow 2 to 3 weeks drying time before installing your mural wallpaper.

Installation

We recomend a professional to apply MyMural, using a normal glue for wallpapers. Follow the glue / water ratio instructions printed on your wallpaper glue box.

Lay out your MyMural Wallpaper

1. Unroll the wallpaper and separate the panels. Identify each panel and arrange in hanging order on the floor.

2. Lay out panels to check image match before installation. If you notice any inconsistencies within the print, please do not install. Our customer service team can assist you with any problems. Under no circumstance can we compensate installation fees from third parties.

3. Make small marks into the overlap of the panels with a pencil.

Applying Glue and Hanging the First Panel

1. Apply glue to the backing of the wallpaper and then into the wall.

2. Hang the first panel straight with a use of a plumb line/spirit level and check if it is in a good position, in the top and the bottom, leaving extra material available to trim away in the end.

3. Carefully smooth away bubbles or ripples using a soft brush or squeegee from the top to bottom and let the wallpaper fall naturally. Do not pull te material and avoid scuffing or scratching the printed surface.

Overlaping Panels and Cutting

1. Apply the second panel and visually match the image at the join and smooth out. Adjust the position until the pattern completely matches.

2. Repeat the process until you have all the panels into the wall.

3. Trim away any excess paper at the top and bottom of each panel using a knife and a straight edge.

4. FOLLOW THE NEXT STEPS, ONLY IN CASE YOU ARE USING THE NORMAL PAPER , IF NOT YOUR MURAL IS DONE! - With a straight edge and a sharp knife, cut down in the middle of the overlap through both panels. When cutting, keep the knife pressed on the wall at all times, moving the straight edge downwards as you cut. Lifting the knife from the wall can cause the join to be uneven.

4.1 The top strip should fall away as you cut downwards. Once you have cut all the way down, gently lift the overlapping drop of paper and pull away the thin strip from underneath. If required, more paste can be applied beneath join to ensure adhesion.

4.2 Use a seam roller to ensure the product is well bonded at the join, and carefully remove any adhesive seepage immediately with cold water and a sponge.

4.3 Continue the previous stages for each panel until all panels are cutted. Trim away any excess wallpaper using a straight edge and a sharp blade.
